From May 9 to 13

The Provincial Superior, with the consent of his Council,
may convene a Provincial Assembly,
bringing together either the entire membership of the Province or its representatives.
Its task is to reflect on the state of the Province and to formulate
guidelines and plans of action (CICM Constitutions, Art. 90)

The CICM Province of Central and West Africa (ACO) held its Provincial Assembly from May 9 to 13, 2022, at the Provincial House of Mvolyé, Yaoundé, Cameroon. Msgr. Faustin Ambassa Ndjodo, CICM, Archbishop of Garoua, was the facilitator of the Assembly. The preparation of the 16th General Chapter (June 4–30, 2022, in Rome) and the internal organization of the Province to better respond to current missionary needs were the goals of the Province Assembly of the 6th Provincial Assembly of the ACO.

To carry on t the mission entrusted to CICM in Central and West Africa, the participants of the Assembly made the following declaration:

 

We, the CICM Religious Missionaries working in the Province of the ACO (...), commit ourselves to

1.  Work on revitalizing our religious and missionary life with particular attention to the living of our vows, fraternal communion...

2. Organize quarterly recollections in the community or during the important times of the Church...

3. Continue to be inspired by the missionary zeal of the first confreres by updating our ACO Missionary Project, by opening up to the virtual world (communication in social networks), by embarking on new forms of apostolates: Missionary animation, JPIC, Orphanages, Agro-Pastoral Center, Street children, Center of missionary animation and accompaniment of couples, taking into account the talents of the confreres, animating and raising the awareness of the confreres so that they make themselves available to the calls of the Provincial Government. . .

4. In the spirit of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter “Laudato Si’ ” and the Declaration of the 15th General Chapter of our Institute, we commit ourselves to the protection of our “Common House” by building public toilets in our parishes, by separating biodegradable from non-biodegradable waste in our communities, by being aware of the need to protect the environment, by raising awareness of the populations on the potabilization of water, the use of LED lamps and renewable energies, by working to improve the living conditions of our people, by sensitizing the breeders on ecological issues, by planting trees in our parishes and neighborhoods.

5. Organize sessions on self-knowledge and inner healing; to facilitate the accompaniment of confreres in crisis by sensitizing them on the need for psychological accompaniment, by bringing confreres to take advantage of the psychological accompaniment and training that are already given in our formation houses, by training more confreres in this field, by valuing the ministry of our confreres as psychologists, while encouraging them to put themselves at the service of our Institute and our particular Churches.

6. Be open to new insertions in the countries where we are already present and in other countries.

In preparation for the 16^th CICM General Chapter in Rome, Italy, at the Centro Ad Gentes from June 4 to 30, 2023, the Provincial Assembly of ACO also elected the delegates and substitutes for the 16th CICM General Chapter.

Confreres who have the right and duty to attend the General Chapter are:

a)  by right of their office:

1. the Superior General and his Councilors;
2. the Superiors of the Provinces and Autonomous Districts which have at least twenty members on the date of the convocation of the Chapter;

b)  by right of their election:

     the delegates elected by their Province or Autonomous District;

c)  by right of an appointment:

    a maximum of three confreres whom the Superior General, with the consent of his Council, can appoint.(CICM Constitutions, Art. 113)

soit leurs représentants.
Sa tâche est de réfléchir à la situation de la Province et de formuler
des directives et des plans d’action (Constitutions CICM, art. 90).

La Province CICM de l’Afrique Centrale et de l’Ouest (ACO) a tenu son Assemblée provinciale du 9 au 13 mai 2022, à la Maison provinciale de Mvolyé, à Yaoundé (Cameroun). Mgr Faustin Ambassa Ndjodo, CICM, Archevêque de Garoua, était le facilitateur de l’Assemblée. La préparation du 16e Chapitre général (4-30 juin 2022, à Rome) et l’organisation interne de la Province pour mieux répondre aux besoins missionnaires actuels étaient le but de l’Assemblée de la Province de la 6^e Assemblée provinciale de l’ACO.

Pour accomplir la mission confiée à la CICM en Afrique Centrale et de l’Ouest, les participants de l’Assemblée ont fait la déclaration suivante.

Nous, Missionnaires Religieux CICM travaillant dans la Province de l’ACO (…), nous nous engageons à :

• Travailler à la revitalisation de notre vie religieuse et missionnaire avec une attention particulière sur le vécu de nos vœux, la communion fraternelle…
• Organiser les récollections trimestrielles en communauté ou pendant les temps forts de l’Église…

• Continuer à nous inspirer de l’élan missionnaire des premiers confrères en mettant à jour notre Projet missionnaire de l’ACO, en s’ouvrant au monde virtuel (communication dans les réseaux sociaux), en se lançant dans les nouvelles formes d’apostolats : Animation missionnaire, JPIC, Orphelinats, Centre agropastoral, Enfants de la rue, Centre d’animation missionnaire et d’accompagnement des couples, en tenant compte des talents des confrères, en animant et en sensibilisant les confrères pour qu’ils se rendent disponibles aux sollicitations du Gouvernement provincial…

• Dans l’esprit de la Lettre Encyclique du pape François « Laudato Si’ » et de la Déclaration du 15e Chapitre général de notre Institut, nous nous engageons à la protection de notre « Maison commune » en construisant des toilettes publiques dans les paroisses, en séparant les déchets biodégradables du non biodégradable dans nos communautés, en conscientisant les populations sur la potabilisation de l’eau, l’utilisation des lampes LED et des énergies renouvelables, en travaillant à l’amélioration des conditions de vie de nos populations, en sensibilisant les éleveurs sur les questions écologiques, en plantant des arbres dans nos paroisses et nos quartiers.
• Organiser des sessions sur la connaissance de soi et sur la guérison intérieure ; faciliter l’accompagnement des confrères en crise en les sensibilisant sur la nécessité de l’accompagnement psychologique, en amenant les confrères à profiter des accompagnements psychologiques et des formations qui sont déjà donnés dans nos maisons de formation, en formant davantage les confrères dans ce domaine, en valorisant le ministère de nos confrères psychologues, tout en les encourageant à se mettre au service de notre Institut et de nos Églises particulières.
• S’ouvrir à de nouvelles insertions dans les pays où nous sommes déjà présents et dans d’autres pays.

La Province CICM des États-Unis a tenu son Assemblée provinciale du 2 au 6 mai 2022, à la Dominion House, à Arlington, USA. Le Père John Pavlik, OFM Capucin, était le facilitateur de l’Assemblée. La préparation du 16ème Chapitre général (4-30 juin 2022, à Rome) était le but de l’Assemblée de la Province des États-Unis.

Déclaration de mission de la Province de US

En tant que missionnaires CICM, de différentes races et cultures, vivant et travaillant ensemble, nous témoignons de la fraternité universelle dans le Christ voulue par le Père. Partageant la mission de l’Église, nous travaillons à la transformation de la société selon les valeurs du Royaume de Dieu.

La présence missionnaire parmi les pauvres et les marginalisés est notre priorité. Conscients de la limitation de nos ressources, nous concentrons nos efforts sur la communauté hispanique. Nous acceptons la possibilité de tenir divers ministères en réponse aux besoins des églises locales, et en reconnaissance de nos dons et talents individuels.

• Nous continuerons à répondre aux besoins de la mission de la CICM dans le monde entier par le biais du bureau de promotion.
• Nous continuerons à atteindre les non baptisés et les non évangélisés, en incluant dans nos ministères actuels une prise de conscience de l’évolution de la réalité multiculturelle aux États-Unis.
• Notre mission inclut l’autonomisation des laïcs et leur participation à la mission.
• Nous voulons utiliser les nouvelles technologies pour l’évangélisation.
• Nous sommes ouverts à de nouvelles façons de faire la mission dans les ministères non paroissiaux comme les hôpitaux, le ministère des prisons, le dialogue interreligieux et le ministère sur les campus.

The CICM US Province held its Provincial Assembly from May 2 to 6, 2022, at the Dominion House, in Arlington, USA. Fr. John Pavlik, OFM Capuchin, as the Facilitator of the Assembly. The preparation of the 16^th General Chapter (June 4–30, 2022, in Rome) was the aim of the US Provincial Assembly.

MISSION STATEMENT of The US Province

As CICM missionaries of different cultures living and working together, we give witness to God’s will that all men and women be brothers and sisters in Christ. Sharing the mission of the Church, we work for the transformation of society according to the values of God’s Kingdom.

We are committed to a missionary presence among the poor and the marginalized. Acknowledging our limited resources, we focus our efforts on the Hispanic Community. We affirm the possibility of diverse ministries in response to the needs of the local churches, and in recognition of our individual gifts and talents.

• We will continue to serve the needs of the CICM mission worldwide through the Promotion Office
• We will continue outreach to the non-baptized and unchurched, including in our current ministries an awareness of the evolving multi-cultural reality in the US
• Our mission includes empowering the laity and make them missionary partners
• We want to make use of new technology for evangelization.
• We are open to new ways of doing mission in non-parochial ministries: hospitals, prison ministry, inter-religious dialogue, campus ministry.
